Julia E. Carey Dead At Cavendish Home

      OROFINO - Julia E. Carey, 81, died at her home near Cavendish at 10 a.m. Thursday. She had been a resident of the Cavendish area for 58 years.
      Mrs. Carey was born Aug. 11, 1872, in Iowa. She Moved to Riverton, Neb., with her parents while still young. In 1890, she moved to Dayton, Wash., and two years later to Southwick, where her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Wells, homesteaded.
      She was married to Frank Carey in Moscow on July 3, 1893. They homesteaded near Cavendish in 1896. He died Nov. 9, 1944.
      She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Ada Pitcher, Bremerton, Wash., Mrs. Helena Huffman, Riverside, Calif., and Mrs. Ardis Lansing, Lenore; two sons, Frank and Alden Carey, both of Lenore; three brothers, George Wells, Cavendish; Claude Wells, Tempkins, Sask., and Aaron Wells, Moscow, two sister, Mrs. Grace Sanders, Kendrick; Mrs. Susie Baker, Tompkins, Sask.; nine grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
      Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Evergreen Grange Hall at Teakean. Burial will be at Normal Hill Cemetery, Lewiston. The body is at Gilbert's Chapel, Orofino.
